Link Up: Meet Me on Monday!

1.  I keep putting off working out! As I type this, I should be doing Chest and Back from P90X!

2.  What is your current weather? Annoyingly hot. Summer hits Texas in March, so it's been consistently in the 80s-90s. It got over 100 a couple times last week, which was just torture.

3.  What is the nicest room in your house? Right now, I am in transit living with my brother, so I don't have a home lol. My room is the nicest!

4.  What jewelry do you never take off? The Claddagh ring C bought be a few years ago. I take it off to shower and that's it. I also literally never take out my cartilage earring and my inner ear piercing.

5.  Do you eat a snack before bed? That's a daily decision. Typically I eat a late evening dessert of some kind, which sometimes butts right into bedtime. I always drink a full glass of water before bed.

Well, I am embarking on another weight loss challenge! I have been pretty steadily working out, and decided to try P90X to speed up the process and tone up! I'm hoping the program will help me stay on target.

I have heard tons of stuff about P90X, and it is pretty intimidating. However, I figured over 90 days, this could have a HUGE impact on my fitness level! And at this point, I really want to see some big change.

I started today with Chest and Back and Ab Ripper X. Chest and Back was mostly pushups and pullups, both of which I am atrocious at. I had to really modify pullups to get any workout, cause I can't even do 1 real pullup. I ended up using a chair, like they do in the video, to make it possible to do any pullups. I also had to modify a lot of the pushups because my arms are so wimpy and weak. 1 is done! I need to work harder next time, which shouldn't be hard since tomorrow is Plyometrics, and I have already heard it's tough!

oh and p.s.....I took before pics today, so hopefully in 90 days I am looking majorly different :P

Now, what's for lunch.....

My favorite puppy girl!

My visit home to Baltimore included some great bonding time with my favorite puppy girl!

Last year when I moved to Abilene, Freckles was given a death sentence. The vet told my mom she had a stomach tumor and was on her way out. However, she was acting fine, so my mom decided to wait it out.

Last week, Freck went back to the vet for a follow up and we got great news! All tests indicate she is no longer dying! I'm not sure if she still has a stomach tumor or not, but the vet is no longer giving her a death sentence!

So in honor of my favorite pup, we had a little photo shoot :)

Easter Eggs

For the last several years, Shannon has always dyed Easter eggs with my parents and me! This year, we ended up with some ridiculous eggs (care of the Magic Crayon) and some equally ridiculous pictures!

We represented by brother and C with a C-130 egg and an Air Force egg, as well as repping the dog and everyone else in the family, both in names and terms of "endearment".

shrink wrapped eggs amaze Shanny!

Baltimore visits: Dani!

Like I said in my last post, I have been hanging out in Baltimore this week, enjoying family and friends!

This weekend, I crossed paths with one of my best friends, Dani. She is living in California with her fiance, who is a Navy Seal! She headed home for the weekend to surprise her dad for his birthday and see friends and family. I was thrilled that I got to cross paths with her this weekend, because I miss her all the time! Now that we both live in different places, it's even less likely that we will be in the same place at the same time.

Dani is one of those annoying naturally beautiful people :)

We hung out on Thursday and basically caught up for a few hours. I was blessed to find a friend in Dani, because we think the same way about so many things. We can rant to each other about anything under the sun, with the understanding that just because I whine about C does not mean I don't love him, or just because I rant about my family, doesn't mean I don't love my family. We also love spending money entirely too much, which makes shopping an extremely enjoyable pastime that we used to spend full Saturdays doing together.

Dani was my go to- we spent our weekends together and basically filled in as each other's dates, since we were both rocking long distance relationships. We took each other too lunch, we shopped together, we hung out with each other's families. She was my local girlfriend since my boyfriend didn't live here :)

I was unbelievably thrilled to get to spend time with Dani and her family this weekend, and I cannot wait til we cross paths again :)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, blog friends!

I am still hanging out in Maryland, and got to see some of my family today for the holiday! I haven't seen most of my family since before I moved, since my Christmas was shifted and crazy busy. It was great to see some of the fam and catch up.

I am hanging out here until Thursday, and then I'm headed back to ABI. I am thrilled to be home, but I am missing my favorite guy too! I am also getting thrown off on my workouts and eating right, simply due to the holidays and eating out more with friends. Hopefully I can keep myself halfway on target while I'm home and then get back on track when I get back to Abilene.

Not much more to say, just a quick update!

Running Brag!

I am super excited about my run tonight, so I had to share. It is pathetic lol, but I'm excited.

I ran an 11:15 mile tonight!!!!

I cannot tell you the last time I got under 12 minutes for a mile. And last summer, I was running more like 13 minute miles. Even my first 5k averaged over 12 minutes per mile. I sprinted a mile with my dad in 2010, RIGHT after we finished Couch to 5k, at 9:30......and I have never seen it since lol.

My next goal is to start increasing my distance again, and hopefully increase distance at the right pace to not lose my pace.

I have consistently worked out in one way or another every week day since last Monday, and wouldn't you know, I am improving! I am going to do my very very best to stay on track, as I am headed to BALTIMORE tomorrow!

It is making me feel great, so I had to share with you all :) It was a beautiful evening in Abilene and a great night for a run!
